”Thank You and I’m Sorry”

Old Finnish joke tells about a young man and his first intimate encounter. Afterwards he says: "Thank You and I'm sorry". I feel a bit the same way after our season ending in pre-playoffs.
With our loss in playoffs, my stint in Köln is over. I have a "No Excuses" -mindset and unfortunately this is part of the life in pro sports. On a more positive note I can say that I don't really have any regrets. I've given my soul to the club, worked hard and put everything on the table. I've done everything to the best of my abilities.
Biggest positive thing for me during these years has been seeing the progress of our goalies. Justin Pogge got to Team Canada and got us to Quarter Finals. Mirko Pantkowski got to German National team and won us two games in Quarter Finals against Mannheim. Tobias Ancicka was one of the biggest impact makers amongst DEL goalies this year and he got to German National Team: Maybe even a contester to World Championships. Niklas Lunemann has improved himself to DEL2 level and Lukas Stuhrmann is a candidate for U18 World Championships. I'm genuinely happy for all the goalies with whom I have been working.
I want to say to all coaches, goalies, players, staff, office workers, Lanxess Arena personel, fans and everyone who took part in this journey: I enjoyed every day with You. "Thank You and I'm sorry".
